We support healthy, happy employees

Splendido is a proud member of the Mather LifeWays family. Based in Evanston, Illinois, Mather LifeWays is a unique, non-denominational not-for-profit organization founded more than 70 years ago. Dedicated to developing and implementing Ways to Age Well, we create programs, places, and residences for today’s young-at-heart older adults. These include providing a continuum of living and care; making neighborhoods better places for older adults to live, work, learn, contribute, and play; and identifying, implementing, and sharing best practices for wellness, workplace, and family caregiver programs.

At Splendido, we strive to maintain a stable, healthy workforce that is empowered and deeply committed to our mission: enhancing the lives of older adults by creating Ways to Age WellSM. We promote a culture of wellness not only through traditional methods, but also through modeling the behaviors we believe are important. We have found those employees who demonstrate passions regarding wellness are an inspiration to others. We celebrate employees’ success stories through our employee newsletter, brown bag seminars, and by serving as leaders promoting future wellness events.

We sustain this dynamic culture with our strong emphasis on employee wellness, including work-life balance and professional development. Through “Eliminating My Impossibilities” (EMI), we have designed a philosophical and operational approach to support both residents and employees in discovering their own dreams and passions, and eliminating barriers to happiness and fulfillment. In return, employees receive top-notch benefits and perks. We also offer free short/long term disability and life insurance. Other benefits of working at Splendido include:

A generous 401(k) contribution

We want to help employees plan for the future by offering them a dollar-for-dollar match on the first 3% contribution into their 401(k) and then a 50% match on the next 2%. On top of that, there is also a 3% discretionary contribution.

Wellness rewards

Splendido helps older adults age well, and in order to do so we want to ensure that our employees are healthy. We offer an exceptional paid time off program, because we want our employees to be able to enjoy their lives outside of work. Eligible employees will earn at least 180 hours of paid time off, but that number can increase substantially depending on years of service. Even more exciting is the fact that we offer benefits to part-time eligible employees.

We also have a wellness program that encourages employees to stay healthy. Every year, employees participate in a Wellness Fair health screening. Based on this analysis, employees who participate can receive incentives and discounts on medical premiums. In addition, we offer an annual program geared toward wellness that will reimburse employees up to $120 for any class that focuses on wellness or health club participation. For example, if you want to enter a 10K race, you could be reimbursed up to $120 for the cost of a training class that prepares you for that run.

Tuition reimbursement

As part of our commitment to lifelong learning, employees who are eligible can get tuition reimbursement for GED courses or college credits toward a bachelor's or master's degree.
